One of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had in MIAS has been to work with the Hollywood Park racetrack. Having recently closed, the park had to decide what should be done with their moving image assets. Unfortunately, it is common for institutions to end up in this same predicament.
Working with Hollywood Park helped me to realize that such places exist, and that I could help them learn how to properly store and care for their audiovisual collections. Thus, much of my work in the program has focused on outreach and archival management.
The items listed below include my papers and extracurricular activities that demonstrate my effort to make archives more understandable and user-friendly.
